Location, location, location.
Some rooms are just meant to work together. Others… not so much.
The Owner’s Retreat: master bedrooms and master baths
- Ideally, nothing above them, nothing below, no common walls
- Don’t place other bedrooms above or beside them
- Avoid locations near media rooms, game rooms or Family Rooms
The Family Area: kitchens, dining rooms and Family Rooms
Keep kitchens near formal dining and Family Rooms- Consider an eat-in kitchen that includes a dining area
- Keep kitchen and Family Room open to each other
The Children’s Retreat: bedrooms and dedicated common area
- Keep the kids close with adjacent bedrooms
- Create a Children’s Retreat for studying and gaming
- Place washer/dryers convenient to children’s rooms whenever possible
