Hilton Head, SC (May 5, 2015): Custom Classics Distinctive Residences by David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately home builder, picked up two more design awards, this time from Detroit Home Magazine for a home built in the Bluffton community of Palmetto Bluff. Highlighted during the magazine’s annual Home Design Awards, The Georgetown was designed by Visbeen Architects, Inc., and earned first place as the top “Vacation Home Outside of Michigan,” and third place for “Best Traditional Master Suite.”
Featuring four bedrooms, four full baths, one half bath and a three-car garage within 5,100 square feet, The Georgetown is situated on a 1.7-acre homesite. The home’s vacation-like highlights include a large front porch, a covered rear porch with marsh views, glass French doors opening to a terrace, a screened porch located off the morning room, a reading alcove within the owner’s retreat and a private casita above the garage with a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and kitchenette.
Presented by the Michigan Design Center and Hour Media, this year’s awards were determined by a panel of architecture and interior design experts from across the U.S., including Austin, Minneapolis, New York and Connecticut.
