Charlotte, NC (November 17, 2015): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder, has begun construction on two model homes in the South Charlotte, mixed-use community of Waverly. The two models highlight the builder’s Executive and Village Collections and will be open for daily tours in January.

Showcasing Weekley’s Exectuive Collection, the two-story Equinox offers buyers more than 3,500 square feet with 11-foot first-floor ceilings, a formal study, kitchen with eat-in island overlooking a dining area, two-story family room, curved stair case, and a first-floor owner’s retreat with soak-in tub, super shower and walk-in closet. The high-end finishes and fixtures throughout will include French doors at the retreat, granite countertops, hardwoods and tile flooring throughout the main level and decorative beams in the owner’s retreat. The second floor features three additional bedrooms, three full baths, a game room and a retreat.

The Village Collection model home is a new floor plan from David Weekley Homes in the Charlotte area. The Whitford is a cottage-style home, with 3,100 square feet, formal study, kitchen with eat-in island overlooking the family room, keeping room, dining area with French doors leading to the rear porch and a first-floor owner’s retreat and bath, complete with a super shower, soaker tub and walk-in closet. The Whitford also features a highly popular walk-through from the owner’s bath to the utility room. The upstairs includes three secondary bedrooms, two full baths, a retreat and a “granny flat” with a private entrance accessible from the garage. The “granny flat” includes a large bedroom and joint living space, kitchen with a small island, full bath and storage room.

Both Waverly model homes will be fully furnished, professionally decorated and complete with a Quality Room display to showcase Weekley’s energy-efficient building techniques. Construction on the builder’s Waverly Townhome Collection will begin in late summer 2016.

The mixed-use Waverly development will also feature a host of restaurants and on-site amenities, such as Whole Foods Market, which broke ground in September, Polished Nail Salon and Novant Health. Waverly will also incorporate several pocket parks, tree-lined streets and The Terrace, a public plaza with outdoor dining, walking trails and seating.

Waverly homeowners will enjoy easy access to Ballantyne, South Park and Uptown Charlotte, and students from will attend South Charlotte schools, including sought-after Providence High School.
