ATLANTA, GA (November 25, 2014): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder, collected 63 frozen turkeys and more than $2,000 in monetary donations to help local families in need through MUST Ministries of Atlanta.
During the Second Annual David Weekley Homes and Friends Turkey Drive, Weekley Homes team members and homeowners partnered together to allow less fortunate families the ability to enjoy Thanksgiving in the comfort of their own homes. The annual fundraiser also provides the main dish for the Thanksgiving meal held at Loaves and Fishes Community Kitchen.
MUST Ministries provides the basic necessities for those in need: food, shelter, clothing and employment. According to MUST, the Atlanta-metro area has one of the fastest growing poverty rates in the U.S., leaving children and families in our communities going hungry. MUST Ministries operates three food pantries, in addition to the Loaves and Fishes Community Kitchen, which feeds about 150 hungry men, women and children every day.
