The study, conducted in 16 of the largest home building markets in the United States, indicates that customer satisfaction is heavily dependent on whether builders can deliver on customer demands for high-quality homes that are available when promised.
"We are thrilled that the responses from our Tampa Bay homebuyers have placed us in this coveted highest position in the J.D. Power and Associates study," commented David Weekley, Chairman of David Weekley Homes. "We have learned what aspects of the home-buying experience are most important to our customers and strive to continually deliver an exceptional level of service."
Nine factors drive overall customer satisfaction with a builder. The top four factors - customer service, home readiness, sales staff, and quality of workmanship/materials - represent more than 70 percent of the overall satisfaction score. The remaining five factors in the study include price/value, physical design elements, design center, recreational facilities, and location. The study indicates that while some of these remaining factors are very important when homebuyers are selecting a builder, they become less important once the homebuyer occupies the home. The study includes feedback from new-home buyers who have lived in their homes between four and 16 months, on average.
