Let’s Talk Turkey… Chocolate Turkey!

It’s that time of year where we’re thankful for our family, friends and the abundance of food we gobble down on Thanksgiving! If you’re looking for a fun D-I-Y cooking project to add a little “cuteness” to your Thanksgiving table, check out these Thanksgiving Turkey Pretzels (it’s also a great project to do with the kids):

What you’ll need:

What you’ll need:

• Pretzels
• Candy corn
• Chocolate kisses
• Reese’s Pieces®
• Candy eyes
• Parchment paper

Here’s how to make them:

Preheat oven to 300° F. Lay out pretzels (with the double-rounded end at the bottom) on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place a chocolate kiss (unwrapped, of course) in the center of each pretzel. Bake pretzels and chocolate kisses for approximately 5-7 minutes, just enough to soften the chocolate. Note: you do not want to completely melt the chocolate, just soften enough to add other candy pieces. Remove from oven and let sit for 2-3 minutes. Place two candy eyes in the middle of each chocolate kiss, pressing slightly onto the chocolate. Push in three candy corn pieces to the top of each chocolate kiss (above the eyes) – these are the turkey’s “feathers.” Next, take a yellow or orange Reece’s Pieces, turn it vertical and place it in the chocolate kiss just below the turkey’s eyes! Let cool and enjoy!

Happy baking!
