In late October, we hit a significant milestone by closing on our 80,000th home, and in the city where the company built its first home 40 years ago: Houston.
Our 80,000th home was built in the Houston suburb of Tomball, in the master-planned community of The Villages of NorthPointe and sold to the Gossett family of Brian, Joy, and their three children, Cade, Landon and Tori.
In true David Weekley Homes fashion of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives, we decided to mark this momentous occasion by focusing on the Gossett family and surprising them with a gift for their new home! After stopping to check in on the Gossett’s, their Sales Consultant, David Louis, slipped into detective mode while covertly surveying the family’s home and asking about furniture needs and wants.
Upon seeing that the Gossett’s had not yet purchased a TV for their Media Room, the Houston Division bought a state-of-the-art 65-inch, 4K TV to enhance this family’s time together.
“We are very honored to be David Weekley’s 80,000th Homeowner and were surprised to receive such an incredible gift,” Mr. Gossett said. “The new television is a gift that is beyond anything we could have imagined, and we are blessed and so touched by the company’s gesture.”
For the Gossett family, this was a milestone that very nearly didn’t happen for them.
“We didn’t intend to purchase the home we now live in!” Mr. Gossett said. “We signed a contract to build in another part of the community, but ended up pulling out of the contract due to timing issues with the build process. When we stopped in to talk to our Sales Consultant, we told him to let us know if anything else became available, but that we’d likely be back in the summer to start the process again.
“Literally the next day, he called and said a home that was just finished had fallen out of contract and was now available,” Mr. Gossett said. “It was the exact floor plan that we wanted, in a cul-de-sac like we wanted and had everything we were looking for. We signed the new contract and before we knew it, it was moving day!
Now in their home for three months, the Gossett’s love the openness of their floor plan and are looking forward to the next several years in their beautiful home. “We looked at some other builders and ultimately chose David Weekly Homes because you guys build a quality product that is still going to look great in 10-15 years, and in subdivisions that also age as well as the homes,” Mr. Gossett said. “Although we’re touched to be part of this milestone for the company, the fact that we’re the 80,000th Homeowner says a lot about your product in selling that many homes.”
