For the second year, the David Weekley Homes World’s Largest Showcase of Homes was a huge success! Throughout the month of April, more than 9,100 visitors, including more than 1,900 Real Estate Agents, stopped by our model and Showcase Homes in 18 of our markets across the country to see current innovations in design and décor trends.
As part of the philanthropic and charitable efforts of our CARE program, a $5 donation was given to a local nonprofit organization for each visitor who registered with a Sales Consultant during the World’s Largest Showcase of Homes, amounting to more than $45,000 for 18 local chapters of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“We are so grateful to the David Weekley Homes Team for their kindness and generosity that impacts all the families that find comfort at Ronald McDonald House,” said Carolyn Schwarz, chief executive officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas. “Their many contributions truly make a difference to our families who are focused on their child’s healing.”
“I am proud to work for a company that strives to enhance the lives of others in need with events like the Showcase of Homes,” said Dino Argento, lead warranty service manager at David Weekley Homes in Phoenix.
The monetary gifts are an initiative of our CARE program that joins Team Members with Homeowners, Homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out Our Purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in all the communities in which we build. This is accomplished by Team Members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations throughout the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
“I had a Customer come into our model and I asked if she would register to help Ronald McDonald House and she told me the story about her daughter twho was born with heart failure,” said Teresa Santos, lead sales consultant with David Weekley Homes in Jacksonville. “They were a young family with no money to pay for surgery and expenses. Ronald McDonald House was able to help with expenses and provide housing. Forty-plus years and seven surgeries later, her daughter was with her looking for a home. It was an amazing feeling to know that our company decided to partner with this charity that has helped so many families in need.”
In addition to supporting these local organizations, each Division gave away three prizes to visitors, including a smart watch, $1,500 appliance package and the grand prize of a $2,000 electronics package. And, we didn’t forget about our Real Estate Professionals – a smart watch was awarded to a lucky winner in each participating market.
We’re thankful to everyone who visited our model and Showcase Homes during April and helped us make a difference in the lives of others with our donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities!
