After your Clients find their new home, the paperwork begins. Our Sales Consultants will prepare the Purchase Agreement and, after it’s signed by all parties involved, your Clients will be on the road to their new David Weekley home!

Contingencies Allowed

As one of the few builders who will begin construction of a new home while the Homebuyer’s existing home is for sale, David Weekley Homes offers limited contingency sales in each community to ease your Clients’ transition to their new home. Homebuyers that purchase a home contingent on the sale of their existing home are required to list that home with a Realtor and it must be placed in MLS.


The existing home must be listed at a marketable price, allowing it to be sold in a 30-day time frame. After your Client submits an appropriate listing agreement to David Weekley Homes, we will review the contingency. Typically, contingency agreements are taken only on a to-be-built home sale and gives the Homebuyer until the drywall stage of the new home to sell their existing home.

Is there an Options Deposit?

When your Clients choose their Custom Choices™, or upgrades and options, a 20% deposit is typically required. This differs from the 100% required at the time of Change Request selection. Check with your Sales Consultant to confirm the specific policy on making deposits so your Homebuyers are prepared.
