Rated 3 out of 5 by from New but pre existing home move in. We have owned 5 other new construction homes during our 43 years of marriage. This is our 1st David Weekly Home. Our sales representative/realtor Kathleen was and still has been excellent, responsive and helpful in every way. . We love the home layout. The project Manager Chris is extremely knowledgeable. We have run into several home building defects and early on there was a definite communication break down. We are slowly getting most of the defects addressed but it has been a challenge, We actually had to have a meeting with one of your members of David Weekly upper Management, Chris and the Warranty person (Paul). We have had problems with what was called a blemish and what was supposedly Warrantable. Currently we are still working on areas that we have put Warranty tickets on. They are being addressed but honestly we feel like we have been a burden because we have had so many problems. Hopefully we can get these issues addressed, we love the community we live in and hope to be here for a long period of time. I would be happy to give you a final evaluation once the work get done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design! We love the colors and accent choices and applaud the overall design and quality. The only two complaints we have is that there was only one towel rack in the primary bath and the thermostat is not up to the standards of the rest of the house (can't set an automated temperature. Either AC or heat and has to be manually switched). Minor flaws and easy to fix except the one towel rack was place in the middle of the wall and does not leave room for a second rack to be hung. All in all, we love the place and the neighborhood.

It would have been nice to have more customizable options, but the nature of current environment prevents that. Certainly not a reflection on the builder. After looking at other surrounding new builds, we were impressed by the size and quality of David Weekly homes. It checked all of our boxes and was an affordable price given the quality and size of the home.

From start (framed, but no sheetrock yet) to finish (ready to move in), it has been a most pleasant experience, frequently exceeding our expectations from previous home builds in other areas. This is our first Weekley home and it meets all our needs and then some. Lauren (or sales coordinator) and Drew (our build supervisor) were and continue to be exemplary in all categories. A few minor glitches post-construction were taken care of in short order and the staff here continues to be very courteous and helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review of Yorkshire Construction in Briar Chapel I am a picky person, have been engaged in 3 new home construction experiences in my lifetime, and this was by far the most excellent product and process in which I have engaged. The Weekly sales agent, Brianda, was amazing, right out of the gate!!!!!! I asked her for extra things, like a map of the Briar Chapel walking trails, replacement of a lost portfolio, and other things. She always responded quickly, eagerly and graciously. I experienced her as a skilled agent who became a friend in the process. And Joe the builder!!!!! HE was impeccable; pickier than I was when we did the walk-throughs, putting up blue tape in places I never noticed! And again, I am a picky person! He and Brianda kept me updated regularly, and Joe checked with me about important decisions, such as having me mark exactly where I wanted the floor socket in the living area, and others. He was amazingly patient with me: my final walk-through was scheduled to be 2 hours; it took me 4, as I took 17 pages of notes. Otherwise, I would have never remembered all the information that Joe was imparting to me! Joe patiently and graciously spent the extra time with me, encouraging my note-taking and saying he wished that more of his customers would do that. Lastly, there was the agent at the Weekly Design Center in Cary, N.C. It has been so long ago, but I think her name was Michelle. Not only am I. picky, I can be strong-willed. I insisted out of the gate on changing the order in which Michelle usually offered clients choices. She was flexible with me. I brought my decorator with me the first time, but not the second time. My understanding is that I was supposed to have finished by the second time, but I didn't. So Michelle patiently scheduled a third visit with me. Before that third meeting, in concert with my decorator, I had changed my mind about the paint color, requiring us to re-do many choices on the third visit. I had my decorator with me, was well organized in the order of this, and promised her we would be efficient. We were efficient, and yet ran over the allotted time. Michelle stayed late, and we finished the process. I had a great sign of satisfaction with our choices upon leaving. And even a bigger sign as I sit here so in love with this home, and with the choices that we finally made. Michelle deserves a bonus; I was a big pain in the neck. Lastly, there were all the gracious touches: the beautiful gift basket awaiting me when I first arrived at the house, with MY KEY! just after closing, the hose and sprinkler left in the back yard, and many many more. I am in love with my new home, can't believe there is also such an amazing warranty period, and can't speak highly enough about David Weekly homes, and the staff who worked with me.

The HVAC system filters should not be in the ceiling and the hot water pipes should not be in the ground uninsulated. Too much heat is lost as the hot water goes through the underground pipes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buyer's review We love our house, but have mixed feelings about the experience and the total outcome. Our sales person and the builder on site are and were wonderful throughout the process. They were available, answered questions and for the most part, took care of the things we requested in as timely a manner as possible. HOWEVER, there have been and are a myriad of things we have found that are extremely disappointing and frustrating. We found out that the choices we made at the design center were not always honored or changes in availability were not communicated. We are not happy with some of the replies we received when we asked about things. For example, between our house and the houses on each side of us we have almost 100% mulch rather than grass. We were told the sun would not allow for grass to survive. An unacceptable reply if we requested grass (which, by the way, helps to retain the sod underneath it, which mulch does not). The neighbors on both sides received grass. They had laid grass, but then removed it claiming no sun. Unacceptable. We ordered lights under the cabinets in the kitchen and only four of the standard five were installed. They will fix it now, but not without having to remove the mirror in the bathroom and doing the back-work for this - what a mess!! I addition - it has come to our attention that the design of the master bathroom is way below expected standards for a house as beautiful as this. The shower itself is too small and when we asked about it - way back at the time they had just installed the shower base, we were told it can't be changed (without changing walls) - once we signed off on it no chance to change, even though we made it clear we would pay the difference. In addition, the shower door and handle are below standard - the handle has sharp edges, which are dangerous for the user.... Furthermore, there is no room for towel racks (only one measly towel rack for the entire room - and that single rack is inconveniently far from where the shower itself is!!) and a counter that is disproportionately long for the room. The counter should be 2 to 3 feet shorter, which would allow for space on the wall for towel racks, etc.... Another issue is the windows in the house We asked for at least one of the three in the dining area and one of the three in the living room to be openable but were told that, too cannot be changed.. Unacceptable replies! The shelves in the master bedroom closet - we were not asked about the height to install the shelves. We saw them after the fact and the top shelves are way too high to be used without a ladder! When we asked to lower the top shelf, we were told it is standard and they cannot move them. Not an acceptable reply! Again we could go on......... We do not wish to sound petty, but we do take this seriously. We love the home we will retire in, and put a lot of ourselves and thoughts into this project. We chose David Weekley because of the beautiful single story design and the location. We love the house, but there is a bit of a sour taste because of these pitfalls.

We found out that the choices we made at the design center were not always honored or changes in availability were not communicated. We are not happy with some of the replies we received when we asked about things. For example, between our house and the houses on each side of us we have almost 100% mulch rather than grass. We were told the sun would not allow for grass to survive. An unacceptable reply if we requested grass (which, by the way, helps to retain the sod underneath it, which mulch does not). The neighbors on both sides received grass. They had laid grass, but then removed it claiming no sun. Unacceptable. We ordered lights under the cabinets in the kitchen and only four of the standard five were installed. They will fix it now, but not without having to remove the mirror in the bathroom and doing the back-work for this - what a mess!! I addition - it has come to our attention that the design of the master bathroom is way below expected standards for a house as beautiful as this. The shower itself is too small and when we asked about it - way back at the time they had just installed the shower base, we were told it can't be changed (without changing walls) - once we signed off on it no chance to change, even though we made it clear we would pay the difference. In addition, the shower door and handle are below standard - the handle has sharp edges, which are dangerous for the user.... Furthermore, there is no room for towel racks (only one measly towel rack for the entire room - and that single rack is inconveniently far from where the shower itself is!!) and a counter that is disproportionately long for the room. The counter should be 2 to 3 feet shorter, which would allow for space on the wall for towel racks, etc.... Another issue is the windows in the house We asked for at least one of the three in the dining area and one of the three in the living room to be openable but were told that, too cannot be changed.. Unacceptable replies! The shelves in the master bedroom closet - we were not asked about the height to install the shelves. We saw them after the fact and the top shelves are way too high to be used without a ladder! When we asked to lower the top shelf, we were told it is standard and they cannot move them. Not an acceptable reply! Again we could go on......... We do not wish to sound petty, but we do take this seriously. We love the home we will retire in, and put a lot of ourselves and thoughts into this project. We chose David Weekley because of the beautiful single story design and the location. We love the house, but there is a bit of a sour taste because of these pitfalls.
