Rated 5 out of 5 by from Restore at Carolina Park Garden Series Building during the pandemic was challenging. In all consideration, from the start to the finish I am very happy. My Salesman, Eric and my Builder, Jon, have been supportive and kept me reassured that the value and building process will be worth the slowdowns and wait. Since the completion of my home, if there has been an issue that has needed to be addressed, my builder, Jon has been proactive in taking care of the issue. I sincerely appreciate that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful home building experience for this 55+ The entire home building experience was amazing. I felt like the builders and support staff were almost as excited as me as they built my dream retirement home. It's an easy living home and at the same time, it is elegant. Thank you so much for providing me this opportunity to live out my retirement years with great refinement and pleasure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amanda Britt & James Cockrill Killed It! From the very first meeting with Amanda Britt to the final walk with Amanda Britt and James Cockrill, they were nothing short of stellar! The weekly phone calls gave us all of the information about what was happening with our house as well as telling us what was happening next. In these times with all of the supply chain issues, trade shortages, and uncertainty, it was always so comforting to know that our house was being built properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nick and Lori are amazing!! I was honestly dreading the thought of building a house. I’ve heard many horror stories about the process plus tossing in a pandemic made me loathe the concept even more. We met Lori and let her know the features we needed, she showed us several floor plans and worked with the options to fit our specifications. Once we made the decision to buy she we there for us through the entire process. She was great to work with! We met Nick at our construction meeting and I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He let us know up front that COVID had disrupted the supply chain and delays were inevitable. I appreciated his honesty and he was correct, there were delays. Both Nick and Lori did a great job of keeping us updated during construction and letting us know why construction slowed at certain points. They have no control over the supply chain however they have complete control over communication and they did a great of keeping us informed throughout the process. We didn’t mind the delays so much because they never came as a surprise. I don’t mind waiting as long as I know why I’m waiting. Nick’s attention to detail and willingness to do whatever was necessary to make his clients happy was very impressive. I could not have asked for a better builder. I process I was dreading turned out to be rather enjoyable. Nick and Lori could not have done a better job and I would wholeheartedly recommend both of them to anyone looking to build a house.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap, fast, good...pick 2 I have to say when we started the process I was excited. This was to be our first home build, but we had visited with several hinders before deciding on DW. What won me over was the construction which seemed to be a cut above the others we were considering. I will have to say that the process was smooth and without any difficulty. The builder kept us updated frequently and we felt well informed throughout the process. The issue is fit and finish; plain and simple. Our home came in around the mid 400s. The ft and finish is horrific at best. What is most disturbing is there is evidence throughout our home that attempts were made to conceal sub-par materials, shoddy workmanship, and plain old "whoops we broke it, now what". The sod job was botched from the start. Sod laid over stones as large as lemons, sticks, and construction debris. Broken and patched shower pan, door trim ripped on a table saw installed and painted rough. Doors warping inside of a month. I keep trying to tell myself the house has good ones at least. Truth is i feel cheated. Would definitely do differently if I had a do over.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent home, poor management/communication The home was completed a month later than originally promised. That was understandabl, but the builder neglected to inform us (despite numerous requests) that the completion date would be late, until after we had reached the original estimated date of completion. As we had to be out of our rental home, this ended up costing us $5000 for moving expenses (twice), storage, and hotel. Had we been given an update beforehand, we could have mitigated these costs to some extent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst customer service experience The quality of the home seems to be decent, however the customer service has been terrible. The unresponsiveness and lack of follow through have been on a level I would never expect from any company. Our realtor said this has been the worst new construction purchase she has ever seen. And now we have to deal with even worse service from the warranty representative. Speaking to some other customers, the horrible service seems to be the only consistency you can count on. As beautiful as our home is, I would never recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tramel Floorplan Completed in 7 Months First time we had a home built. Neighbors commented on how quickly the build took place. Mark personally talked with all neighbors about build (traffic/noise) expectations and provided contact information in the event of any questions/issues. Cameron was a great communicator and project manager. Darren's customer service is exceptional and he gets things done. DW only charged based upon materials/labor required, while a competitor wanted to include a location premium even though the lot was already paid for (and we already paid a location premium when we purchased the lot). Smooth process overall, and would definitely recommend David Weekley based upon price, value, quality, professionalism, and timeliness!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big expectations, BIGGER DISAPOINTMENT! Great experience with the on-site Sales representative, other than that, disappointed with the lack of attention to details, poor workmanship and the low quality of the materials installed in the house. What I knew about David Weekley homes, coming from the Houston TX area, is that he takes pride of the houses built, quality was more important than profit, it was his name and reputation above everything else. The quality of the house I have, does not reflect the David Weekley homes I knew, not even close. Starting with the fact that when a David Weekley house is purchased in the Charleston SC metropolitan area, I don't know other areas, is unfinished!, one wall of the garage is not covered and they have garage doors but not the garage door openers!!!; They built a Pocket Desk designed for an approx 2200sf house that in my mind doesn't make sense since this models include a Study/Office room, this pocket office, in my opinion, is a wasting space, instead, it should have been a 1/2 bathroom. For the size of this house, the guest rooms and limited in space as well as the garage doors width. In talking with the neighbors that own David Weekley houses, we all share the same opinion. Not going into much detail, I can say that fixtures, painting, finished flooring, doors not closing properly, garage doors not the same size, caulking in general, and other issues shows that David Weekley homes are just an average house with a big price. I was told that the same construction sub-contractors are the same crews building houses, which is fine. I am just questioning where was the David Weekley's standards being implemented in the houses built? The dry wall seam tape in the ceiling and walls are noticeable, even one can feel the bump where the tape is installed. Visually and at contact one knows is something wrong, I was told that it was just a visual effect for the light coming from the windows that have no blinds, even an offer to paint it again, the whole wall, and that defect that you may expect on an old house, but not on a new one built by David Weekely, still there. A hole made by the door knob located at the garage entrance into the house, (see attached pic) was not possible to change the whole wall, but just fixed, kind of, at the third time. A mistake created for not having the door stop on time to prevent it. The David Weekley I knew, would have change the whole wall, but the David Weekley of today, just decided to patch the holes on a new house. Now we are having issues, probably expected, I am not sure, that will need to contact the warranty person to deal with those issues on a new house that cost a lot of money due to the market, which clearly is builders market and David Weekley being a big player in the market can do what he wants as long as the profit is bigger than the quality. You may want to ask, why I purchased this house after reading above comments, it is simple, I have to settle with this house because it was ready to move-in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets Better Every Day From the signing of our contract to the close and after our experience has been so enjoyable. The quality of our home is beyond our expectations and I love the follow up from Easter Baskets for our pooches (Compliments of Samantha our DW Realtor) to the warranty meeting and the drop ins to see if everything is ok. (Kevin) Pictures are from our beautiful home. I think our pups are enjoying it as much as we do.
