Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Experience not great house The customer service and experience provided by Coleen from the start of our search through to the end was absolutely exceptional. However I personally do not think the premium paid for a David Weekly home is justified by the quality and finish of the house. The home is 10% - 15% more expensive than comparable homes in the community, but the quality appears to be the same. If not for the superb experience provided by all representatives in the process, I would not recommend this builder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from outstanding service We moved into our new home a couple of months ago. This is the 4th house I have built. 2 were custom. This has been the easiest of all. I appreciated the weekly updates. Since we closed, we have had a few problems, only one needed immediate attention. We were a bit unusual in that our builder left the ay after our closing. Jeremy Woods (warranty) and Andy Akins (project Manager?) have been exceptional in handling any problems. Your contractors have also been very responsive. You should recognize these 2 outstanding individuals

Everyone except Josh Carter has been extremely difficult to communicate with. Our dishwasher leaked all over our kitchen floor in the first week, ruining our floor. It now needs replaced. The day we closed we were told they were sending out an electrician to fix the light above our stove, which still has not been fixed. Our master shower leaks all over the floor and has leaked onto the baseboards. They attempted to have it fixed, but it still leaks. There is significant sloppiness and the quality of the home has not matched the price. I am also very disappointed in how all of these issues have been addressed. I would not buy with David Weekley again.

Our builder cared about every little detail in our home, and really understood our family's needs. It felt like we were friends and his eye for the requests and details was always a level above what we would have expected. We would absolutely use the team at David Weekley again.

When I saw items of concern Steve Gilcrest already knew about them and addressed all my issues. We also had a weekly call to review the build and exactly what stage we were in. Laura was awesome and helped making sure my wife and I were informed and very happy. Great team Laura and Steve! Thank you for everything! Great experience! and I will be recommending David Weekly to anyone I hear that is looking to purchase a new home.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Company, Poor Floor Plan Design Our sales agent and builder were very helpful throughout the whole process. Generally, David Weekley seems to build quality home and finish on time. The process was good overall. However, after being in the home for a little over a month and trying to settle in, it’s clear the actual design of the home was poorly thought through. It’s over 3000 square feet but feels much smaller based on the layout. The dining area is too small, the guest room and upstairs bedrooms are very small, and the “retreat” is more like a glorified/extended hallway because of how it’s laid out. The staircase is really narrow even though there’s an empty soffit on one side. They couldn’t figure out how to vent the fireplace, so we have a 2’x2’ vertical soffit in the middle of our upstairs hallway. The mast bedroom is bigger than it needs to be - they could have recaptured some of its space to make the living room deeper since it is pretty shallow and hardly accommodates couches and TV without feeling cramped. The slope vent placement in the dining area are right where chairs would go, and we’ve already busted the vents multiple times. This was the first of this plan they had ever built, and it shows. Seems like they just slapped together an idea to make a space efficient and cheap home design. Our builder did a good job of helping us understand why certain engineering decisions had to be made, and I am thankful for his communication throughout the process. In fact, I would say our build team redeemed our experience. There are elements we enjoy, such as the large master bed and bath, and the spacious deck. We’ve looked at other floor plans from DW that are clearly well thought-out and purposeful so I know they are capable of building quality plans. But let me be clear, we would not have bought this home had we seen it in person beforehand. If David Weekley would take the time to fix these engineering and design issues for future builds, this could be a great home! Until then, buy a David Weekley home, just don’t buy a Dooney!

Chalee Tennison, our Sales Consultant, was determined to make our first home building experience an exciting journey from start to finish. She did an amazing job! Chalee kept us involved and informed every step of the way and was very quick responding to our many questions. Our builder, Matt Fudge, has also been fantastic! We were able to communicate directly with him throughout the process. He was quick to respond and very thorough with answers to our questions. Both Chalee and Matt have continued to make themselves available even after the closing of our home. It's clear that David Weekley Homes wants you to feel like family. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Amazing Home Frustrating Customer Service We can not speak on behalf of the building process as the home was completed when my wife and I were in the process of looking for a new home. The home is incredibly gorgeous and the sales team and contractor lived up to the customer care reputation of David Weekley. After we closed, the charm and care ceased causing the last 1-2 months to be frustrating. Our side lawn was used as an access point to install a community irrigation and was ruined. We learned of this day before close. We included the repair of the lawn on our inspection report and were informed it would be taken care of. Next day when we were moving in sod was placed on top of the ruined grass and was completed poorly. We also found our attic door left open and unable to be closed, trash left outside our front and back porch, as well as the David Weekley blue wooden barrier left in front. Our irrigation system was winterized after the close and without informing us. The pipes were taken and we still have no idea where they are despite asking numerous times. After asking numerous times as well to have the lawn fixed we finally had work completed the second week of December. During the work our internet line was cut by the worker even though we warned them of the worse underneath. This left us without internet for 2-3 days. Upon the completion of the work I found our AT&T box in the ground was damaged this morning and is an eye sore. The lack of communication and poor care has made our experience with David Weekley frustrating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Durham Farms There were a lot of issues at the begining of the process. We took over the build from someone who backed out. We were told we would get to make most of the selections since it was still in framing but then were told that wasn’t correct. We got to make some of the selections we wanted but were met with resistance throughout. The home is nice but the landscaping is garbage. The sod never took and we were promised it would be replaced the week we moved in but it wasn’t. Now we’re stuck going back and forth between the builder and warranty specialist and nobody wants to address it. I’m paying out of pocket to take care of it myself. The backyard is just straw, weeds and rocks. Very minimal effort was put into it and it shows. We had lots of other hiccups along the way.

During the work our internet line was cut by the worker even though we warned them of the worse underneath. This left us without internet for 2-3 days. Upon the completion of the work I found our AT&T box in the ground was damaged this morning and is an eye sore. The lack of communication and poor care has made our experience with David Weekley frustrating.

From that moment I was in contact weekly with the builder, sales consultant, and then was thoroughly educated about my new home with all it's features by the warranty professional.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Durham Farms There were a lot of issues at the begining of the process. We took over the build from someone who backed out. We were told we would get to make most of the selections since it was still in framing but then were told that wasn’t correct. We got to make some of the selections we wanted but were met with resistance throughout. The home is nice but the landscaping is garbage. The sod never took and we were promised it would be replaced the week we moved in but it wasn’t. Now we’re stuck going back and forth between the builder and warranty specialist and nobody wants to address it. I’m paying out of pocket to take care of it myself. The backyard is just straw, weeds and rocks. Very minimal effort was put into it and it shows. We had lots of other hiccups along the way.
