David Weekley Homes and Unicorp Break Ground on Griffin Farms at Midtown

Orlando, FL (November 1, 2016): David Weekley Homes and Unicorp National Developments, Inc. officially broke ground on Griffin Farms at Midtown, an upscale town center, and Griffin Park, a gated community of single-family David Weekley homes, in Lake Mary.

Approximately 30 guests were in attendance, including several officials from the city of Lake Mary. David Mealor, mayor of Lake Mary, provided opening remarks, and Brent Bartholomew, division president for David Weekley Homes, and Chuck Whittall, president of Unicorp, spoke about plans for Griffin Farms at Midtown, which will include 138 single-family homes and 260 apartments.

“David Weekley Homes is excited to partner with Unicorp and the city of Lake Mary to bring a beautiful new community and town center to enhance the lives of Lake Mary residents,” Bartholomew said. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to build our award-winning homes in this up-and-coming area and delight future homebuyers as we make their dream home a reality.”

Developed by David Weekley Homes, Griffin Park will feature five series of homes: Townhomes, City Homes, Bungalows, Gardens and Cottages. Future amenities include a pool, cabana and gathering areas. The gated community, surrounded on two sides by protected wetland forest, will be within walking distance of Griffin Farms at Midtown and its specialty grocer, 24 Hour Fitness, Dunkin Donuts and other retail. Homebuyers can enjoy proximity to local dining, entertainment and recreational activities and Orlando opportunities less than 20 miles away.

Home sales are expected to begin in spring 2017 and the Griffin Park grand opening is slated for summer 2017.
