Ratings & Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great experience Ryan and Pegan were both great to work with. Both of them were very helpful, responsive and friendly. And they were both really good about communicating updates on the home during the build. Our home turned out great and on-schedule!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warranty Kimberly was very thorough and pleasant with her warranty review. This is our 8th build over 40 years and this has been the best home building process/experience, even during a government imposed shutdown of the economy !

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great builder, horrid company, bad engineering Working with our builder, Cayd, was great. He was patient and polite, even when we were not. The seven-month delay was never explained by the company (even though it was mostly the management's fault), and there were never any apologies for the delays costing us $24,500 in storage and rental. In fact, when we asked for a minor (less than $1000) break on closing costs, we got a nasty, rude message from someone named Dustin that I will never forget. And I understand he or someone he works with was responsible for sending HVAC contractors to another development, adding to our delays. Additionally, the floors all squeak (engineering!); the electrical circuits are overloaded (engineering!) to the point that we have to unplug the coffee maker if we want to open the oven door and the vacuum cleaner, wherever we plug it in, dims all the lights; we had to beg them to move the air conditioner from right off the middle of the patio; and the placement of some of the light switches is bizarre (again, engineering?). We had to upgrade nearly every surface in order to make the home look decent, and there were some they wouldn't change. For example, we had to replace the very, very, very cheap light fixtures--at additional cost to us after market--in the dining/living/kitchen within a week of moving it because the ones installed looked so cheap. We like the home for the overall layout and for the greenspace and mountain views. But we would not recommend David Weekley, even though we would highly recommend Cayd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible customer service From start to finish - the entire experience has been such a pleasure from the sales team to the builders and everyone in between. The weekly communication and updates were extremely helpful with managing expectations and I couldn’t be happier with how everything worked out. Even through the supply chain issues they kept pushing my home along and kept me in the loop of any minor delays or concerns. Am so grateful for their hard work and dedication to giving an excellent product and the best customer service possible. Namely - Liz, Kathy, Greg, Nick and Denny have just exceeded all my expectations!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Process was drawn out and many things went wrong We were initially sold on the quality of work that David weekly promises to deliver. After almost an entire year from our original intended closing date, we finally closed on our house. Several contractors and tradesmen were fired during the build, did poor work, and had to come back repeatedly to fix things that werent done correctly. The workers didnt respect the property they were working on and trash was left in our home as well as new holes and broken things each time we walked through. Corners were cut and quality did feel compromised. We got an update call weekly that basically told us nothing. Rarely were thing actually making progress during the progress calls. Several things were left undone when we closed even after the extended period of time they had to complete our house. After we closed, our contractor stopped answering our texts and referred us to the warranty lady who gives us the second degree on everything we want to be done correctly THE FIRST TIME. My husband and I feel like we had to FIGHT FOR QUALITY and wouldn’t ever do this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't have asked for a better team! Liz and Greg were extremely helpful every step of the way and even after we closed and moved in! We seriously couldn't have asked for a better team, they made sure we knew things that weren't common knowledge about home care and we couldn't be more thankful. We felt like they were always going the extra mile to make sure we were educated and comfortable with our home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could have been better! The overall experience was ok. I have to separate the different stages to give a better explanation of experiences. At the beginning of this journey, everything was great. Our sales person Pegan was amazing. The design phase all the way through breaking ground went great and we felt we made the right decision choosing David Weekley. Then the build began and it seemed as though the process started falling apart. Although we were given warning that there may be times throughout the build were there seemed to be no progress, rest assured things were either being scheduled, like inspections, or that the vendors were working on items that were sometimes not recognizable but work was being done. Unfortunately, that became a norm rather than an anomaly. I recognize that I am not a builder and there are things happening behind the scenes that I was not aware of, but anyone paying attention could see that there were scheduling inefficiencies that created longer than normal stale periods of construction. I polled other friends and family who were building at the time and even with the delays in material availability, their homes were on track and schedule to complete within the timeframe given to them upon signing. There were items brought to the attention of David Weekley that were not addressed and created additional work which caused more delays; it was a mess. The house was literally being finished as we walked in after completing closing papers. The sales person and the builder were great throughout as far as communicating, but the communications became more and more frustrating as we would hear the future weeks plan only to find out on the next call, none of it was done. We lost 2.5 points on our rate due to the length of time it took to close, there seemed to be no urgency, no appropriate prioritization, and very poor planning. I also realize that the market is different depending on the region, but I would venture to say that $600,000 is a lot of money for anyone, and in my opinion, the craftsmanship displayed was not up to par. Items I would consider as routine tasks, Wall placement, sheetrock, paint, etc., were sub par and had to constantly be fixed. It took almost 16 months from signing to close for the build to be completed. We had to resign 1 month in because they sold us the wrong lot due to the elevation restrictions which added more time. We were told that we would have some say in our front landscaping, we were not afforded that luxury. The most disappointing part of it all was we didn't have the ability to stand our ground and wait to have everything fixed pre close due to our living arrangements that exceeded our original time frame by almost 6 months from the worse case time frame given at signing. We were powerless and had to rely on warranty to get our items fixed. At the end of the day, we received a house that we desperately needed to get into, and the feeling of relief is greater than the my happiness with the process/build. While we were able to perform "blue tape walks", everything towards the end was rushed, things were getting thrown together. We were told that once the appliances went in that for security purposes the house would be locked after hours, it was never locked. Essentially, nothing with the build was consistent, most of what we were told came off as lip service and excuses because nothing was being completed as we were told. In fact we asked at one point to be told what had happened rather than what was going to happen because nothing was happening as planned. Now that I have been in the home for a bit over the month, I am finding that my neighbors had similar experiences which affirms my perception of the build in my specific situation. Even when we asked for higher level management to be involved, it didn't change this situation. I know others with David Weekley homes in other areas that had wonderful experiences, but that was not the case for this neighborhood.
