Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Home, Awful Street Our home buying experience WAS amazing. We loved the sales representative and builder we worked with. Our sales representative was wonderful about communicating with us and keeping us informed. The builder was terrific about working with us to ensure our home was exactly what we wanted. We love our floor plan and our house in general. HOWEVER, three weeks after moving into our house, the house across the street from us (also built by David Weekley) was painted a horrible color. It is bright, fluorescent aqua green with a bright yellow door. This was not an approved color scheme. This house does not fit in with the street or neighborhood. The other homes in the neighborhood are earth tones--grays, taupes, and white. The rules that applied to me and my husband did not apply to this owner. We have spoken to the HOA and they have assured us they did not approve it and can't change anything. They only have control over the color of the home after the owner closes on it. They referred us back to David Weekley. Had my and husband and I known this house would be painted this color we would not have chosen this street. For this reason, I cannot recommend David Weekley to anyone. You could find yourself in the same position as me and my husband. I feel this would not have happened if we had chosen another builder in our neighborhood, such as Homes by Dickerson. I am regretting our decision to build where we built and to use this builder. The value of our home has been diminished. Not only do I have to look at this unsightly construction everyday, but I'm not sure we could sell our home in the future because of the house that is across the street from us. Words cannot describe how upsetting it is to have a brand new home, but be so uphappy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Building From Afar We were having a David Weekly home built in North Carolina while still living in Massachusetts. The builder and sales consultant kept us informed of the progress with weekly conference calls and photos. We felt part of the construction experience even though we weren't there to see the work being done.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Horrible Warranty Experience The overall home building process is pretty good. Although there were small issues here and there, my builder and sales representative were responsive and able to fix problems quickly. They tried their best to make sure that we were happy about the final result. However after closing, the warranty service is horrible. The representative doesn't reply to emails nor give call backs as promised. In addition, she does not have the ability to properly communicate the issues with the workers. As a consequence, almost no job can be finished in a single appointment. We had two appointments to fix small issues that are left over from the construction stage. However, every time there will be some left overs and two appointments will become four. What is even worse is that in two appointments, we received very short notices (i.e. in the morning of the confirmed date) to postpone the appointments. One just postpones to a month a later. We understand that there are so many things going on for house construction and there will be mistakes that cannot be easily found before closing. We believe these will be taken care of through the warranty service, however, there are still issues left unsolved after closing for more than a month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Home Buyer Our experience with the purchase of a David Weekely home definitely exceeded our expectations, from the initial sales consultant who showed us around, to the selection of the property, through the entire build process, and finally through the closing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Final Online Review Overall our experience was great, and that's all because we had an excellent sales team and builder. Brad Gross, our builder, is absolutely top-notch, and put our needs first. Stephen Hollingsworth, our salesperson, was also excellent. Any frustrations or suggestions in the rest of this review are not a reflection of their dedication to our family and their excellent work, they are only with portions of DWH that are completely out of their control.
