David Weekley Homes To Host Model Home Groundbreaking in Wildrye

David Weekley Homes will break ground on its new model home, The Thistle, in Wildrye on September 29.

Houston, TX (September 22, 2026): David Weekley Homes, one of the largest privately held national home builders, and the Waller Area Chamber of Commerce will host a groundbreaking for a new model home at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, in the Waller, Texas, community of Wildrye, located at 22527 Sawyer Mountain Drive.

The event is open to the public, and light refreshments will be served following the groundbreaking.

The new model home, The Thistle, will be one story and span 2,650 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a three-car garage.

Future amenities planned for Wildrye include a community resort-style pool and clubhouse, playground, walking trails and fitness center. Residents have easy access to outdoor recreation at Zube Park, U.S. 290, and nearby shopping, dining and entertainment, including the Houston Premium Outlets. Students within the community attend Waller ISD schools, and a future on-site elementary school is planned within Wildrye.
