INDIANAPOLIS, IN (December 2, 2014): Camp Riley is almost ready for its next group of summer campers, thanks to the volunteer efforts of David Weekley Homes. The group recently spent a day completing several beautification and construction projects to get the camp in shape for next year.
Camp Riley is an annual summer camp where children with physical disabilities experience adventures like horseback riding, waterskiing, archery and swimming. The camp is located at Bradford Woods, a 2,500-acre outdoor recreational facility at Indiana University. More than 200 children between the ages of eight and 18 attend Camp Riley every summer.
The Weekley team built stairs for a wheel chair ramp, cleaned the barn, pruned shrubs and more. The team also volunteered at Camp Riley’s Child Life Party at the Riley Outpatient Center. They organized arts and crafts, and gave out prizes to brighten the patients’ day.
