Family Message Board

Family Message Board
Schedules can get hectic for any family. Here’s a great way to help keep track of everyone’s activities and leave messages for each other when you’re on the go!
Supplies You’ll Need:
• Square chalk boards (dry erase boards work great, too) – one for each member of your family
• Fabric or large wooden letters to identify each family members’ name
• Paint
• Hot glue gun
Directions:
If you’re using fabric for family members’ names or initials, cut each one out and glue to the top corner of each message board and let dry. If you use wood letters, paint each one and set aside to dry before attaching with a hot glue gun to the boards. Once each board is embellished and decorated, hang on the wall in an accessible area where family members can write their schedules or important reminders for everyone to easily see!
Early-riser Reminders
Start the kids’ mornings off on the right foot and help remind them of their morning routine and to-dos with these clever D-I-Y placemats.
Supplies You’ll Need:
• Decorative paper
• Glue
• Poster board
• Markers
• Dry erase marker
• Adhesive-backed Velcro dot
Directions:
Cut three 6- by 12-inch rectangles from decorative paper. Using glue, attach each side by side onto the poster board. Write a “Things to do at Home” checklist on the left rectangle and a “Take to School” checklist on the right one (leave a few blank spaces at the bottom of each list for notes). Have the place mat laminated at a copy shop or cover it with clear packaging tape. Your child can use a dry erase marker to check off items or write additional reminders. Affix an adhesive-backed Velcro dot to keep the marker attached to the placemat.
