Indoor Comforts in the Great Outdoors

The newest decorating trends for outdoor spaces include creating an “outdoor room” feeling, so think about bringing indoor comforts outside. An outdoor room includes more than a folding table and few chairs.

Newer outdoor furniture includes full-scale furniture that has been created to be comfortable, withstand the elements and look great at the same time. You can create a fantastic venue – complete with full sofas, loveseats, end tables, coffee tables and more – to celebrate with friends and family on Independence Day and beyond.

When buying new furniture, decide on a style you like. If your taste is modern, check out the newest trends in wicker-style furniture that features clean lines and rich colors. While traditional wicker is made of natural wood materials, the newer wicker styles use durable, weather-resistant materials (such as dye-able high-density polyethylene) for the interwoven strands.

Or, you might want to go for the traditional nautical look with beautiful, durable teak. Teak is used on ships and boats the world over, thanks to its highly dense molecular structure repels water. You can treat teak to maintain its beautiful original brownish/red color, or you can allow it to weather to a natural grey. Either way, your teak furniture can last a lifetime, and you can update the cushions and accessories to fit your mood or the holiday.

With a few simple updates, you’ll be ready to break out the red, white and blue cushions just in time for the Fourth!
