The Lighter Side of Living

In Tampa, Design Center Manager Lori Corcoran says, “The overall color palette of the home is lightening and softening with lots of gray and yellow tones.” From gray wall colors to splashes of yellow accents and art pieces, these colors really make a room come to life!
White is the New Black
“In the kitchens, we’re mainly seeing Homebuyers choose white cabinets with clean lines and bright, decorative glass tile accents for backsplashes,” said Heather Cagle, design consultant in Charlotte. “It’s fairly uncommon to see the ultra-dark or nearly black cabinetry anymore. With our open floor plans, Homebuyers want the kitchens to be very light and bright and a true extension of the family and dining areas for social gatherings and family time.”

Kristi Kennedy, Austin design center manager added, “We’re seeing a trend back to quartz countertops – for the smooth-looking, solid surface and an alternative to granite. And, of course, wood flooring is still king in Austin! There is no doubt, Homebuyers typically spend the majority of their design center budget on flooring and in the kitchen.”
While these interior selections and décor ideas are trending, our Homebuyers, with the help of our Design Consultants, continue to make their homes an extension of their individuality and create a home that fits their style! Stay tuned for more design trends and tips from our experts!
