Make a List and Check it Twice

Spring is in the air! That means more time laying on the beach, enjoying the great outdoors, and getting a start on spring cleaning. Homeowners should also use the warmer weather as a reminder to review - and complete - several household tasks.
The beginning of spring is a great time to take a look at some important items on the Homeowners’ checklist. Now’s the time to clean the gutters around your home, flush out your vent system and re-caulk any cracks around the windows and doors of your home. Other items on your to-do list should include:
- Clean siding around your home with a pressure washer to prevent mold
- Replace deteriorating caulk around window sills and doors
- Pull leaves and debris from gutters
- Drain your home’s waste and vent system
- Check and replace batteries in flashlights and remote controls
- Check and replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Check and replace air conditioning and furnace filters
Following through on your checklist is important, but spring chores don’t have to be a bore. Get the family involved and turn your spring cleaning tasks into a fun day of projects to kick off the new season!
