Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great experience Ryan and Pegan were both great to work with. Both of them were very helpful, responsive and friendly. And they were both really good about communicating updates on the home during the build. Our home turned out great and on-schedule!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great builder, horrid company, bad engineering Working with our builder, Cayd, was great. He was patient and polite, even when we were not. The seven-month delay was never explained by the company (even though it was mostly the management's fault), and there were never any apologies for the delays costing us $24,500 in storage and rental. In fact, when we asked for a minor (less than $1000) break on closing costs, we got a nasty, rude message from someone named Dustin that I will never forget. And I understand he or someone he works with was responsible for sending HVAC contractors to another development, adding to our delays. Additionally, the floors all squeak (engineering!); the electrical circuits are overloaded (engineering!) to the point that we have to unplug the coffee maker if we want to open the oven door and the vacuum cleaner, wherever we plug it in, dims all the lights; we had to beg them to move the air conditioner from right off the middle of the patio; and the placement of some of the light switches is bizarre (again, engineering?). We had to upgrade nearly every surface in order to make the home look decent, and there were some they wouldn't change. For example, we had to replace the very, very, very cheap light fixtures--at additional cost to us after market--in the dining/living/kitchen within a week of moving it because the ones installed looked so cheap. We like the home for the overall layout and for the greenspace and mountain views. But we would not recommend David Weekley, even though we would highly recommend Cayd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible customer service From start to finish - the entire experience has been such a pleasure from the sales team to the builders and everyone in between. The weekly communication and updates were extremely helpful with managing expectations and I couldn’t be happier with how everything worked out. Even through the supply chain issues they kept pushing my home along and kept me in the loop of any minor delays or concerns. Am so grateful for their hard work and dedication to giving an excellent product and the best customer service possible. Namely - Liz, Kathy, Greg, Nick and Denny have just exceeded all my expectations!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Process was drawn out and many things went wrong We were initially sold on the quality of work that David weekly promises to deliver. After almost an entire year from our original intended closing date, we finally closed on our house. Several contractors and tradesmen were fired during the build, did poor work, and had to come back repeatedly to fix things that werent done correctly. The workers didnt respect the property they were working on and trash was left in our home as well as new holes and broken things each time we walked through. Corners were cut and quality did feel compromised. We got an update call weekly that basically told us nothing. Rarely were thing actually making progress during the progress calls. Several things were left undone when we closed even after the extended period of time they had to complete our house. After we closed, our contractor stopped answering our texts and referred us to the warranty lady who gives us the second degree on everything we want to be done correctly THE FIRST TIME. My husband and I feel like we had to FIGHT FOR QUALITY and wouldn’t ever do this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't have asked for a better team! Liz and Greg were extremely helpful every step of the way and even after we closed and moved in! We seriously couldn't have asked for a better team, they made sure we knew things that weren't common knowledge about home care and we couldn't be more thankful. We felt like they were always going the extra mile to make sure we were educated and comfortable with our home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could have been better! The overall experience was ok. I have to separate the different stages to give a better explanation of experiences. At the beginning of this journey, everything was great. Our sales person Pegan was amazing. The design phase all the way through breaking ground went great and we felt we made the right decision choosing David Weekley. Then the build began and it seemed as though the process started falling apart. Although we were given warning that there may be times throughout the build were there seemed to be no progress, rest assured things were either being scheduled, like inspections, or that the vendors were working on items that were sometimes not recognizable but work was being done. Unfortunately, that became a norm rather than an anomaly. I recognize that I am not a builder and there are things happening behind the scenes that I was not aware of, but anyone paying attention could see that there were scheduling inefficiencies that created longer than normal stale periods of construction. I polled other friends and family who were building at the time and even with the delays in material availability, their homes were on track and schedule to complete within the timeframe given to them upon signing. There were items brought to the attention of David Weekley that were not addressed and created additional work which caused more delays; it was a mess. The house was literally being finished as we walked in after completing closing papers. The sales person and the builder were great throughout as far as communicating, but the communications became more and more frustrating as we would hear the future weeks plan only to find out on the next call, none of it was done. We lost 2.5 points on our rate due to the length of time it took to close, there seemed to be no urgency, no appropriate prioritization, and very poor planning. I also realize that the market is different depending on the region, but I would venture to say that $600,000 is a lot of money for anyone, and in my opinion, the craftsmanship displayed was not up to par. Items I would consider as routine tasks, Wall placement, sheetrock, paint, etc., were sub par and had to constantly be fixed. It took almost 16 months from signing to close for the build to be completed. We had to resign 1 month in because they sold us the wrong lot due to the elevation restrictions which added more time. We were told that we would have some say in our front landscaping, we were not afforded that luxury. The most disappointing part of it all was we didn't have the ability to stand our ground and wait to have everything fixed pre close due to our living arrangements that exceeded our original time frame by almost 6 months from the worse case time frame given at signing. We were powerless and had to rely on warranty to get our items fixed. At the end of the day, we received a house that we desperately needed to get into, and the feeling of relief is greater than the my happiness with the process/build. While we were able to perform "blue tape walks", everything towards the end was rushed, things were getting thrown together. We were told that once the appliances went in that for security purposes the house would be locked after hours, it was never locked. Essentially, nothing with the build was consistent, most of what we were told came off as lip service and excuses because nothing was being completed as we were told. In fact we asked at one point to be told what had happened rather than what was going to happen because nothing was happening as planned. Now that I have been in the home for a bit over the month, I am finding that my neighbors had similar experiences which affirms my perception of the build in my specific situation. Even when we asked for higher level management to be involved, it didn't change this situation. I know others with David Weekley homes in other areas that had wonderful experiences, but that was not the case for this neighborhood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Come and be my new neighbor! Buying a new home can be exciting and scary; but also, you're not just building a home, you're building a life for yourself and your family. Communication with the builder and sales team is key to feeling comfortable with your purchase decision and all that comes with it. Logan and Pegan were that and more, consistently giving me weekly status updates and a firm welcome to see the progress firsthand on the weekends. I was assured and reassured every step of the way. There were some delays and that is to be expected in today's construction climate, but we made it and I couldn’t be happier. I have over 20 years experience in architecture and related construction industries and I will say without hesitation, I’ve never known a homebuilder so focused on the details as the David Weekly team; not just the details and finishes of the home, but in their customer experience too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent experience overall, even with delays When we purchased the house in April, the estimated date of completion was Oct. Our sales rep and builder were pretty good about providing weekly updates. As the year moved on, the updates kept pushing the date further "it's looking like Nov...then Dec, definitely by Christmas, sorry not Christmas, definitely in 2021...oh, sorry it's going to be early January" It went on like this for months. They claimed supply chain and labor issues due to COVID. Meanwhile houses that were available to purchase when we were looking at lots and were started at the same time as ours were finished and being lived in since November, so that argument doesn't bear much weight. We were finally given a closing date of late January. We gave our notice to the apartment we were renting, changed our insurance, credit cards, and all the other address changes only to be told in early January that our closing date had to get pushed another month to late February. In hindsight, we would not have chosen to rent a short-term $120/day apartment if we'd known the build would take 4 months longer than originally anticipated (do the math and that's over $14k out of our pockets we were not anticipating). The build process and delay after delay were very, very frustrating. That didn't seem to concern DW as we never heard much in the way of an apology, just excuses that held no water. Now that we're finally in the home, other than some sloppy paint here and there, we're quite happy with how the house turned out and love the community we're in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Continual delay in getting our house. First of all, we do like the home very much. However, the journey to get to this point was arduous and one we would hope no one else has to go through again. When we purchased the home, we were told it would be ready in October. With each phone call from our builder and sales representative, the date continually moved. The reasons were COVID, trade issues, and supply chain problems. We completely understood the issues. However, if that were the case, how is it many homes, sold after ours, were completed months before ours. And those houses/lots weren't even available for sale when we purchased ours. We never received an answer as to how that happened. It didn't seem as if there was an urgency and no one, to include the President of Operations that serves our area, really provided an answer other than providing the David Weekley party line (COVID, labor shortages, and supply chain issues). It is a shame that no one within the company was able to step up and just say, "We messed up." We felt our building supervisor was in over his head and didn't show initiative. Not that our issue was the only reason, but since our move in, he is no longer an employee with David Weekley. I believe the chain of command failed him and us as the customer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Good Experience The home building experience was good. Terri & Hutch stayed in touch the entire build. I do feel that the communication between sales and construction could have been better when it came to change orders that were approved by sales but not followed through by construction. The home is great but I do wish the trade partners were held to a higher standard, there was a lot of sloppy work on tile, caulking around windows and paint work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home Process Review Curtis was our Sales Representative and was extremely helpful and courteous as we went through the emotional roller coaster of buying our first family home. There were a few hiccups as far as some of the home building process went, but Curtis was prompt in ensuring they were resolved. Over the course of the process, we had three separate project managers. We sincerely appreciated Felix and his insight to the overall process. Our last project manager, Ryan, came in at the end; but since we closed on the house, he has been EXTREMELY, (Cannot highlight that enough), helpful in addressing any issues that came up after closing. A few minor things that we wouldn't have noticed anyway at closing until we moved in. Our only major issue and complaint was using the design studio, Guy's Flooring. The sales rep at the design studio was extremely argumentative, did not price us correctly on some of the items we ordered (which was later fixed), and overall we just did not have a good experience with Guys Flooring. Curtis did help consolidate a lot of our issues with the Design Studio and gave us direction on how to move forward. Overall we are extremely happy with David Weekley and our experience with the DW staff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We are home... Purchasing a 'spec' home with 99% of the features already pre-selected gave us some pause, but the finishes and features selected were excellent. Liz Fast with Weekley Homes made the purchase process smooth, and even with the COVID challenges on crews and timelines, she helped us ensure our build stayed pretty much on track. We appreciate her assistance during the full process, and that of the construction superintendent team.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding communication during the build process I saw and purchased the home when it didn't even have all the windows and doors in, then the next time I saw it (except via Google Duo) was after closing. Never during the process did I have to call Terri, my contact, as she always kept me updated on the progress. And Hutch always listened and took care of 100% of my concerns. I have gone through this process before about 6 times, and this was the easiest of them all. Thanks Terri and Hutch!

I do feel that the communication between sales and construction could have been better when it came to change orders that were approved by sales but not followed through by construction. The home is great but I do wish the trade partners were held to a higher standard, there was a lot of sloppy work on tile, caulking around windows and paint work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love our David Weekley home From our amazing Ryan that sold is our house to our builder Greg- we are so impressed by our experience. I had friends building with other builders at the same time and they were envious of our weekly calls from Ryan and Greg and what care we experienced the whole way through. We are loving our new home and thankful for the incredible experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wolf Ranch, Colorado Springs Living From the time I walked in through the closing and to current this has been one of the best home buying experiences I've had. I had originally hoped for another subdivision but, I could not get the value offered by David Weekley Homes. A big plus was the personal attention given the Lead Sales Consultant Terri Cotter and the builder Hutch. Theses two are just fantastic people and go out of their way to make sure your expectations being met.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pre Built It was fine. Only fine. I enjoyed sales person and builder as their personalities were great. Other than that, nothing exciting to report.
