Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our First Time to Build We have always bought home previously and settled for some of the small inconveniences. After deciding to build a new home and looking at A LOT of floor plans, we chose David Weekley homes. The entire process from the plot of dirt to our finished dream home was an exciting journey. My wife loved the visit to the design center and our sales agent was phenomenal, providing updates on weekly calls with our builder.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water leak We have a water leak in the front lawn since the we moved in, we have talked to the project manager in Magnolia Court and no solution was provided he said it was normal to see water. I went and talked to the warranty office and they came took a look and said that it was my sprinkler system and that is normal to see water in the water rains. So finally I had to close the main valve inside the home and the water meter was running, so then I had to close the water meter valve and now we don't have water. We called the emergency number and they help us to show us that we can close the water from the sprinkler system and then we open the valve from the water meter again and it wasn't running. So this confirms a water leak from the sprinkler system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from KT This is my first experienced with new construction home, I don’t really know what to expected. However, my builder and sale agent tried their best to make the process go smoothly. There are something that is not to my expectation, but I know not everything can be perfect. Painting job was not ideal, very sloppy job, when they attempted to fixed it, it will then creates other messes. I guess it was a contract painting company, which they should get rid of. Also, they need to have better build of attic door stairway, because it is very dangerous everytime my husband tried to get the attic door open on the ceiling above, I am always afraid it might drop on him. It is very difficult to open the attic door stair. Other then that I love my new home

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Home Build Review Building during the pandemic was a challenge, but overall was a good experience. I believe the David Weekly Team did the best they could, considering the challenges of the current market. They continue to be supportive after move in with any open items and warranty work. Overall I would recommend building with David weekly and we love living in the Walsh Ranch Neighborhood.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Oak Park Villas Customer service from both the sales agent, Gwen, and builder, Keith, was excellent throughout the process. I opened my contract when the home was already started, so I was unable to modify many features. However, it looks like David Weekly allows many modifications if the contract is signed before construction begins. So far I have not had any problems, and it looks like good quality construction for the price. My only issue was that it took much longer to build than I anticipated, but I am sure it was due to disruptions caused by both COVID 19 and the freezing temperatures in Feb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Home First of all Carla and Mark were amazing, they met with us weekly. We had weekly phone calls and updates. Mark and I did walk through from the pouring of the slab, framing, roofing, sheet rocking, flooring and the final process. Carla ensured that we were happy with all our selections. I felt they both were on the same page during the entire process.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Started off great, ended horribly! The building process started out wonderful. There was a minor setback with a repeat brick issue in the HOA rules but David Weekley was very accommodating and let us pick a new lot to start the process over so we could keep the brick we fell in love with. Fortunately for us, this did not delay our build time, as we were still on schedule to complete by the end of March. During the build process, we had great communication with our sales rep and build manager on a weekly basis regarding the progression of our home and next steps to be completed. One thing we loved about David Weekley is that they let us customize things in our home.  We were able to add stair railing instead of having a half wall at the top of the stairs, and removed a half wall in living room to give a more open feel. All amazing things! We did not experience this type of customizability with our last builder, so we were very excited to build with David Weekley. The issues with David Weekley began the beginning of March, the month we were expected to close. We stopped by one weekend to see how things were coming along, and boy, were we surprised.  The wrong flooring was installed, the wrong kitchen countertops were installed, and the wrong stain color on the fireplace mantle and stair railing were wrong. We notified our sales rep immediately, and she notified the build manager.  They apologized and kept reiterating they did not know how this could have happened, but that they would get it fixed as soon as possible.  To fix everything, it ended up pushing back our close date.  They ended up replacing the kitchen countertops and stair railing, and sanded down the fireplace mantle and had it restained. A few days later we had our buyer introduction meeting (March 12th) with the build managers, and our realtor.  We went over all of the details of the house, in addition to adding a bunch of blue tape "touch up" items inside our home.  We were astounded at what we saw that needed to be touched up. There were dings and dents in the cabinetry, both in the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen trim above the cabinets was poorly installed. The brand new countertops had scratches all throughout, and the hardware was not installed symmetrically. Caulking around shower tiles and toilets was sloppy or not completely caulked, baseboards and shoe moldings were sloppily installed and poorly painted. Baseboard seams showed where one piece would meet with another.  Carpet in upstairs had "bunched up areas" where it looked as if the padding was installed incorrectly or there was debris underneath. Very frustrating too because we paid top dollar to have nice carpet/padding in this house. We addressed our concerns with the sales rep/build manager and supposedly they got everything fixed before we met for our final walk through.  Fast forward to the day of our final walk through and it was like nothing had been touched.  Everything was still a disaster. At one point we both had to step away. We were fuming. We were told by two different DW employees that they didn't think they would be able to meet our expectations - that we were being unreasonable.  Wanting a new house to look like a new house is NOT being unreasonable.  We kept reiterating to them how important the cabinets, countertops, carpet and baseboards were to us, but in hindsight, they were just too cheap to fix things properly. Instead of replacing the kitchen cabinet doors that had the dings/dents in them, they decided to sand them down and use touch up paint instead. The touch up paint does not even match the exact color of the kitchen cabinets. Also we were told they had a professional from the granite place to come out to repair the scratches throughout the kitchen island but we do not believe them because the next time we saw the countertops, there were little green specks that were not there before, along with a haze.  The island had lost it's shine. We do not believe the island was resealed either because after we moved in we noticed every little drop of water or damp napkin leaves behind an imprint in the granite. The baseboards and shoe molding areas that were "fixed" look worse now than they did before. They lost the detail and now overlap one another.  Carpet still has bunched up areas. Doorbell stopped working. Shower handle was loose in guest bath. Garage door gets stuck. HVAC was not working correctly. Just overall really shoddy work done throughout the house. The day we moved in, the floors were completely filthy and we were told cleaners would not be coming out again. David Weekley is supposedly a high end builder, but honestly, our last home with History Maker which is considered to be a "budget builder" felt like a much higher quality home.
