Austin, TX (June 9, 2022): David Weekley Homes, one of the largest privately held national home builders, has partnered with the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin (HBAGA) for the 2022 Benefit Home benefitting HomeAid Austin. The groundbreaking of this year’s home took place on June 8, 2022.
Every year, the HBAGA members construct a home built through donations of construction management, materials, supplies, labor and monies, and the net proceeds from the sale of the home benefit local charities.
“It’s such an honor to have this opportunity to partner with the HBAGA and HomeAid Austin on this project,” says Chad Durham, division president for David Weekley Homes in Austin. “Giving back to the community is in our DNA, shown through our purpose statement of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives for our team, customers and community. What better way to live out our purpose by building a dream home for someone where the proceeds directly benefit our community!”
The 2022 Benefit Home will be built by David Weekley Homes in The Colony, a master-planned community in Bastrop, Texas. Weekley’s floor plan, The Cloverstone, has been chosen for a 45-foot homesite in the newest Bandera Pass section of The Colony. The floor plan features three bedrooms, two full baths and two-car garage.
“We are honored and excited to participate in this important cause,” says Matt Martinelli, purchasing manager for David Weekley Homes in Austin. “The developer, our vendors and partners have all stepped up with very generous donations, and we’ve been impressed with the framework the HBAGA has provided in helping us build a successful Benefit Home. We’re grateful for these partners and for the opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way.”
