According to GHBA, David Weekley Homes was chosen for this year’s award for outstanding work and service to the community and association, particularly the company’s role in the formation of BuildAid, following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
A partnership between HomeAid Houston, David Weekley Homes and other local builders, BuildAid is a nonprofit organization that significantly reduce the price of rebuilding Harvey-damaged homes by offering materials and contractors at cost to homeowners. Under the leadership of David Weekley and with the financial support of The David Weekley Family Foundation, BuildAid has successfully restored more than 100 homes to-date hit by Hurricane Harvey. In recognition of their post-Harvey efforts, BuildAid was awarded a Presidential Citation.
