Atlanta, GA (August 14, 2018): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder, hosted its fourth annual, companywide CA+RE School Supplies Drive in 17 cities across the country. In Atlanta, school supplies were collected for Smyrna Elementary School, which will provide Kindergarten through fifth-grade students in need with supplies.
Approximately $600 in supplies were collected from homeowners, vendors, Real Estate Agents and business partners during the drive. This donation provided more than 950 students with the supplies needed for the school year.
“Being able to raise supplies for a school in need that happens to be part of a larger development that we are building in was a great opportunity,” said John McNeill, builder with David Weekley Homes. “Not only do some of the kids in our Village of Belmont community attend this school, but our local team gets to see these children day in and day out, as the elementary school borders where we are building.”
The School Supplies Drive is a volunteer and philanthropic initiative of the company’s CARE program, which joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in each of the communities in which it builds.
