In addition to collecting nearly 2,600 pounds of food, the Indianapolis Division also donated $10,000 to support the needs of Second Helpings.

David Weekley himself joined Raleigh Team Members to collect more than $5,100 in turkey and nonperishable donations for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

David Weekley Homes recently hosted its third annual companywide Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive in 18 cities across the country. From November 1 – 15, Team Members joined together with Homeowners, vendors, Real Estate Agents and community partners to collect more than 213,000 pounds of turkey and nonperishable items for 18 local nonprofit organizations.

“This holiday season is a time of particularly great need for food in Central Florida,” said Dave Krepcho, President and CEO for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. “David Weekley Homes has stepped up in a big way to help us fill the gap for our neighbors in need yet again, and we are grateful.”

The annual drive is an initiative of our CARE program, which allows us to live out Our Purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives by making a difference in the communities in which we work and live. For more than 20 years, The David Weekley Family Foundation has donated more than $100 million to worthy causes in the U.S. and abroad, and our Team Members have volunteered countless hours with various organizations across the country.

In Dallas, nearly 24,000 pounds of food, plus cash donations to purchase an additional 22,000 pounds of food, were collected from Homeowners, Real Estate Agents, vendors and Team Members during the drive for Metrocrest Services. The donated food will benefit approximately 1,800 Dallas-area residents, providing them food for a week.

“I feel very blessed and thankful to be a part of our David Weekley Homes Team that had a hand in touching the lives of so many in need this holiday season,” said Tamara Cornelius, Builder Service Representative for David Weekley Homes in Jacksonville. “I am also thankful to our Team, vendors, Homeowners, and our family and friends who supported Farm Share, Inc. through their donations and time. Each year this drive gets better, and we are able to touch more lives through our contributions!”

Thank you to all of our Homebuyers and Homeowners for joining us to support thousands of families in need in your local communities! We hope that you will join us in the future as we continue to create a culture of caring and contribution.

In Salt Lake City, Team Members and Homeowners donated 642 pounds of nonperishable food – enough for 535 meals – to the Utah Food Bank.
