While working at a home builder, his supervisor wanted to substitute the use of a company car for the bonus he’d earned. David took his case to the company president who told him to take the Oldsmobile or resign. He chose to leave the company and decided to make a leap of faith and start his own business. David established David Weekley Homes in Houston, Texas, in 1976.
