Rated 1 out of 5 by from Home Building Experience The entire home building experience was terrible. Throughout the whole process we asked for basic fixes but the response we would get from the builder is "Work was performed up to the industry standard." On several occasions the builder would tell us on our weekly phone calls that certain things were addressed and repairs were made but once we would go by the house it turned out not to be the case. The reason why we decided to build our first home with DWH was because we heard their quality of work was better than other builders but that turned out to be false. We are still waiting on several issues to be resolved since we had our closing and dealing with the warranty rep is proving to be another terrible experience. Purchasing/building our home was supposed to be an enjoyable and memorable experience for us but unfortunately it turned out to be the complete opposite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic From Top to Bottom From start to finish our salesman was fantastic, so accommodating and had always prepared with useful information. Our builder was just as great, kept with timely updates and worked hard. They are still taking care of us as we have transitioned into the home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IN LOVE with My New Home From the first time I did a neighborhood walk-thru, I was treated like a new homeowner in the neighborhood. Any questions or concerns were answered promptly and once I decided to purchase Jenn (Jennifer) went above and beyond to assist me. Great experience! I would not only purchase another David Weekley home, I would also highly recommend them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Home in Colony - what a headache We had a great experience with Lisa our sales rep and in the beginning a good experience with our builder Dennis. But then after we moved in issue after issue arose. It appears we will be having repairs/fixes done for quite into the future. The main issue we are having is with our wood tile floor. They were installed very poorly and with all different widths of grout. Some tiles are so uneven and sharp they have cut open both mine and my daughters feet. There was lots of other sloppy work done in other areas as well. It is too many to count. Our warranty person Amber was fine in the beginning but we’ve had several interactions that were quite rude especially when her and the floor area manager came to my home and basically acted like we were crazy being unhappy with our floors. I’m sorry but floors are a big deal. We also still have a hole in the wall in our master bath sink area that hasn’t been addressed. We now also learned that a full column among several other walls were fully crooked. I have two little kids and my husband and I both work from home so all Of this is very much an inconvenience. Getting windows of time almost weekly for contractors is very disrupting for our jobs. All of this has been a headache and quite honestly I can not recommend David Weekley to others and quite frankly would not use David weekley again in the future. We are honestly quite worried of the problems that may arise in the future since there have been so many errors only in the first 2 months. For some reason this page will not let me add photos but am happy to send them where I need to send them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy with Our David Weekley Home We had a great experience working with David Weekley Homes right from the beginning. The process from the sales office to the Design Center was very thorough. The quality of their workmanship, windows, doors, floors and other parts of the house are excellent. We built the Haden model and could not be more happy with it. We are proud to live in a David Weekley home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The house we were dreaming of The homebuilding experience was refreshingly easy and simple. We never thought we would build a home; I've heard too many horror stories from friends. When we met our sales consultant, he quickly put us at ease regarding the homebuilding process and he was the reason we decided to go for it. The entire process was actually super easy and headache-free. The team got our home done ahead of schedule and it is perfect! The service we have received from the warranty specialist after we took ownership of the house has also been superb. I would absolutely recommend David Weekley Homes. Our model is the McClenaghan in case you're wondering.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No transparency, quality and consideration I have built or remodeled several homes but never had an experience where the people doing the work were so vague about what would happen, provided such limited oversight of the construction and then offered only basic consideration for how to make things right. It started with the sales process. I was "sold" on one house and received something else. As one example, all the houses in this area were multiple colors. The house they were building for me was more monochromatic. When I tried to get a visual of what the house would look like, they kept putting me off. I spent hours on the phone (and online) with Sherwin Williams to understand and offer some suggestions. In the end, David Weekley (DW) declined to take the expert's advice and paint the front door a different color. In fact, the project manager had no compassion for the situation at all. Then, as construction progressed, I started to see issues with the cabinets, tile/grout, painting, windows, trim work and finishing (like caulk and hardware installation). I was here several times a week pointing out issues. When it was far enough along, I even marked issues with blue tape. (I did that 4 times-spending several hours each time.) My last extended trip was on June 20 (closing was June 24) where some of the same issues from the beginning were present. At that point, I had to close on the 24th because I had to be out of my previous home. I had always heard that David Weekley was a good builder and they would make it right. While I believed that to be true, it has not occurred so far. It would appear inexperienced labor was used with inferior products and there was limited oversight to make sure the contractors provided quality work. The result is floor tile with pin holes in the tiles (inferior product), holes in the grout (inexperienced workers), uneven grout lines and grout that will not come clean. The master shower is the biggest disappointment; however, as that tile is uneven, the grout lines are too thick in places and too thin in others, some tiles were cut wrong, there is grout all over the tiles (and window), and the floor is damaged. (It was acid washed a few weeks ago and still is discolored and irregular. I will not accept repairs that would not permanently fix this situation.) Even with the walls in the house, there are places the material added before painting was not applied correctly and is rippled. The baseboards have paint runs, there is excess caulk everywhere (often used to fix a mistake) and doors were painted with dirt on them. These are just a few of the issues where there was no oversight to repair the problems as they occurred. The cabinets are some of the cheapest I have ever seen. While an experienced cabinet installer may have been able to work with these, the installer used could not. I had to demand that doors be replaced but had to live with cabinets that were already compromised. You may be wondering why I didn't do more or demand more before closing. I did keep thinking that DW had a strong reputation and they would fix everything that had been pointed out on previous occasions but not yet fixed. (I do have documentation of these issues and how long they had been ongoing.) Sometimes it was overwhelming because there were so many things wrong. It was hard to focus on just one thing, especially if I was rushed (like on the final walk through). Also, on that night, I was told if there were too many issues, we may not close. The project manager was here that night and kept dismissing concerns (like about the master shower). The message was clear - we know what is wrong and we don't want to list all the items. I still thought they would be fixed; however. I now have a superintendent who is not involved and does not validate that work was never completed as requested, a project manager who cannot be bothered and a warranty rep who says that things are just "cosmetic" even if it is clearly a defect in the construction/workmanship and decreases the value of the home. I have scraped and scrubbed almost every piece of tile, cleaned excess caulk and grout off the floors, baseboards and cabinets, painted some areas that were missed and been available without notice for the few repair people who came by. This is a slow process that seems to get more difficult with time. People forget what work is still yet to be done and they are unsympathetic to what it is like to live in a house that was overpriced and poorly built. I am having out of town guests this weekend, have blue tape everywhere and am embarrassed by such an expensive house that looks like this. DW should be embarrassed too but maybe since the money has exchanged hands, it doesn't really matter. We'll see if that is true after this letter is reviewed. I would like for someone who is in a position to make a difference to contact me so I can show them the issues. That should not be someone local as it is clear they are not that interested in improving the situation. In fact, I almost get the impression they think I am the problem instead of admitting the construction is the problem. I am only the one pointing it out. At this point I am frustrated, overwhelmed and disappointed with this experience. I could not recommend DW until my house is completed the way it should have been in the beginning. That will require skilled labor, at this point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Home owner I was very happy with our construction rep. Matt and Theresa and our new project manager. During the speciation's of the building there where a lot of issues due to the overall internet wiring and that these issues became a very sore point in the building process due to that your VP John was extremely uncooperative. With my job I needed a high level of internet cabling in my home in which had to be CAT6A. The cost from the supplier was off the wall and this was not put in correctly or installed correctly. I stood with the gentleman and told him exactly where to put the wires. In which when I came back they were install incorrectly. I told John I would personal would supply all the material due to the level of security that is needed for my profession. I was told by him, he was shutting down the project. This John person needs to listen to the customer and he is the most unprofessional person in your company. As Ray Kroc founder of McDonalds said "when you are green you are growing. When you are ripe, you rot". this my mantra and I live by it. As an Architectural Engineer I have professionals of all disciplines and there knowledge at my disposal. If he would have listened in the first place and worked with me. I would have not had to spend $1200.00 to have some one come in after the fact to rewire the house. The design of the house was very good but there are things missing in the overall design i.e. no linen closet the house need to be 2ft Longer to accept a King Size bed in the master on wall next to the closet. Small things make a difference. I wanted to have a 3 Car garage I have the lot and land necessary to accommodate the garage and I was told no and there are the same model with them and my lot is twice the size due to we have a corner lot. Poor response from Paul Provenzano from the architectural review board. Now I will be spending Close to 50 to 75K to add on to make the home exactly what I would like. I hope that you are more open and have learned from this you are not always correct and that the customer is the one paying for it. A home becomes custom when you allow us to make the ultimate designs decisions in which you need to work with them to get the job done to there expectations. Thank you to Matt, Thresa and KC for a outstanding job we love our home!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New home 2020 The process from the start to the finish was done with the work of David Weekly staff. From the beginning of the foundation to the final walk through every week was a conference call and I was updated on the process of the house. Living in Connecticut at that time the pictures of the house in different stages was so wonderful to see. Any questions I had was addressed and explained to me with knowledge and professionalism of the staff at David Weekly Homes. They never missed a beat! Once living in my beautiful home, the staff still made sure I was satisfied and understood all the warranties, how to care for the home and told me they will always be around If need be. Thank you all for your help from the beginning of the process to the end of the process and still around to help me out if need be. Great hard working people to work with. Thank you again. Love my house. !!! Sincerely, Janet Bower

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There's No Place Like Home Everyone that we worked with at DWH gave that little extra of themselves to make sure we were getting, not just a house, but a "home" for our family. While nothing in life is ever going to go perfectly, it was great having a team to work with that makes it their number one priority to get through any hiccups as smoothly as possible. I would definitely use David Weekley again in the future if needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Riverside After we finally got the site person and our builder settled with who that would be, after all the changes, everything went good. They called every week, answered all our questions, and did what that said by having the house ready by the date we wanted. The only thing I will say is that everyone needs to be on top of all the subcontractors. The painting was not the best and we are still finding paint splatters all over the floor, and not noticing it as many times as they had to come back doesn't say a lot for the company. But as far as Terry and Matt, I couldn't ask for 2 better people to be on top of everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing They customized the downstairs office to accommodate a bedroom and built a full bath off of it as well. The experience was so enjoyable for my husband and I and we never felt any stress.
