David Weekley founded David Weekley Homes in 1976 at the age of 23, and now serves as the chairman of the largest, privately-owned home builder in America.
David Weekley Homes was the first homebuilder in history to win the "Triple Crown of American Homebuilding," which incorporates the following three awards:
In 1999, BUILDER awarded Weekley the "Hearthstone Builder Lifetime Public Service Award." In 1998 and 1986 he was named "Builder of the Year" by the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA).
Currently, Weekley serves on the board of directors for St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. Additionally, he serves on the board of trustees of The Kinkaid School, former board President and current board member of the Greater Houston Community Foundation, as well as the executive committee of the Sam Houston Area Council of Boy Scouts of America. He has served as chairman of the Steering Committee of the Metro Houston Young Life and chairman of the Sam Houston Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, president of the GHBA and the Young Presidents Organization and executive board member of Houston's Star of Hope.
He authored a book on home buying, How to Buy a Home Without Getting Hammered.
Weekley holds degrees in economics and geology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
